It would be great if you could define groups of search filters for both the global and personal search filters.
When you pulled down the menu, the searches would them be grouped together by these category names. Similarly in the search filter manager page, the would be grouped by category too.
Category names should be optional of course so the UI would remain the way it is presently for users that don't use the categories and items that are not in a category would be grouped together.
