It'd be sweet to be able to insert thumbnails of images instead of only being able to insert the full-size image.

Ideally, you'd just have an option in the "Image Properties" dialog:

[X] Pop-up from thumbnail of size: [________________]%

Then the wiki would show the thumbnail in-line (with the same alignment options) and show the full-screen-sized image in a lightbox when the thumbnail is clicked, with an option to show the full-resolution image in a new window/tab.

Even if I have to generate the thumbnail myself, you could do something simpler, like adding an option to the "Image Properties" dialog:

[X] Link from thumbnail: [________________] [Choose File...]

Agreed.

Currently, I have to decide between reasonably sized images that are hard to read or unreasonably large images that are easy to read.

To handle this, I put reasonably sized and hard to read images into the wiki articles so that the reader can get an idea of what the drawing is supposed to communicate. Then I put in an attachment with the full sized drawing so they can download it if they want to see the full sized version and read the details.

Having two version of the same information in the same place is just bad form and config management imo. Also, it feels really kludgy to me.

The feature suggested above would be a big step towards getting the wiki on equal footing with other wikis out there.
