So we've created these wonderful case outlines with no task > than two hours and the estimated and elapsed time roll up nicely to be summed for each parent case. Worked great.

Until we stared closing cases. As soon as we do the Estimate (Current) column goes blank and we have no way of seeing which of these went over and by how much. I can hardly believe it.

Anyone have any suggestions for making this information visible as this is essential to giving our developers feedback.

Those estimates are now available on the developers' estimation history page, which can be accessed by clicking their name anywhere in the interface.

I appreciate that, but that estimation history is outside the context of the parent cases and milestones under which these estimates were originally made, so we can't see how much a group of cases differed from estimate. Unless the estimate is shown in its original column it is effectively invisible to us once the case is closed. – John Sindelar Oct 21 2011 at 16:35
This is at least a little bit by design. The idea is not to penalize people for being bad estimators, but to adjust how much you can expect to get into a release, according to estimation history. – Rich Armstrong Oct 31 2011 at 14:27
