As an avid user of stackoverflow.com and other children in the Stack Exchange family, I'm a little confused why this site seems to work differently (and not even in a consistent way!).

Why can I vote on answers for some questions but not others? Why is there no button to 'ask a question', but there is one to 'submit [a] feature request'? [Am I submitting a feature request now?]

Some of this is addressed in fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/8953/…. – James McLeod Sep 19 at 16:23
As Rich commented in this feature request 'question' – fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/9191/… – tagging a 'question' as a feature request (i.e. adding the tag feature-request?) restricts voting to the 'question' only. – Kenny Evitt Sep 20 at 14:32

We will be making big changes to this site once the traffic from the Trello launch calms down.

Nice – my two gripes have actually been addressed at least, and understanding why they are as they are certainly helps. – Kenny Evitt Sep 20 at 14:33
