I've been using both the case Due date field and the daily Escalation report as a GTD-like 'tickler' system, i.e. almost exactly like what the 'Do Later' plugin can now do with the 'Notify Me' option. But when I'm scanning my list of cases, or another user's list of cases, it was extremely helpful to be able to see when the assigned user next planned on working on a case.

I love the 'Do Later' plugin, but I'd like to be able to see its fields in the case lists, as well as save those fields as columns in case filters.

UPDATE Oct. 2012: This has been partially implemented and will be released in a future version of the plugin. We're adding two grid columns, DoLater Action (for Notify Me or Activate & Assign To Me) and DoLater Time (to show the time the future action will occur for you). We also added a new DoLater search axis, which lets you filter by notify, activate, or all, to see all of the cases for which you have upcoming Do Later Actions.

These updates only show you information about your upcoming actions. Providing a mechanism to show you the information about other's upcoming actions was beyond the scope of this update. However, that information—while not available in the grid view—can still be seen by reading the bug events in the individual case.

Thanks! I'll ping the plugin dev and get this in as a feature request.

While they're at it... Have the fields (or at leas the user) available as a search axis? – James K Sep 22 2011 at 12:30
