My users rely heavily on FogBugz. How do I minimize downtime when I move it to another server.

The instructions here address most concerns in a server move. My advice would be to take a backup of your data without bringing the site down. Do your install on the new server and point FogBugz at the copy of the data. Make sure everything's working to your satisfaction, then, when you're ready to cut over, shut down the old web site, do another backup, and replace the database in the new location. If you're not doing this during normal New York business hours, you might want to call us ahead of time to make sure your licenses won't get locked by installing them multiple times. |
