The Html editor is great, but often I want to copy and paste something into a case from a formatted document. When in the Html editor, the paste carries the formatting from the source document. It would be a nice feature to have a "Paste as plain text" button on the Html editor toolbar that would strip out formatting and paste only as plain text.

Today, I find I use the following work arounds:

  1. Change to plain text editor mode just for the paste operation
  2. Paste into notepad, than copy again and paste into Html editor.

If you're using Google Chrome, you can paste with Ctrl+Shift+v (instead of just Ctrl+v) to paste without formatting. – db Jul 11 2011 at 21:46

A lot of this is going to depend on your browser a lot more than on FogBugz. If you're using Chrome, Dane's suggestion to use Ctrl+Shift+V to paste text without formatting is great.

I use Chrome as well, and one of the things I do a lot is drag and drop links from one browser window to another. It will preserve the link without the formatting, which is always exactly what I want.

I am using Kompozer and it has a right-click option to "Paste without formatting". Sometimes the option is greyed out but I think that if you are in "Preview" mode then you will have the option. AayBee.
