For example, the Kanban Board plugin. The latest version says it should be compatible with FogBugz 7.0 or higher. I have FogBugz 7.2.16 on Linux. I tried uploading the latest version of the plugin and I get

This version of the kanban plugin is currently not supported on Linux FogBugz. Contact customer-service@fogcreek.com for news on a working version.

I then tried a couple of the earlier versions, and I still get this error.

The Kanban Board plugin is not developed by FogCreek, so I could see how this could happen. However, even FogBugz-developed plugins are not immune. I tried installing an older version of the URLTrigger plugin (1.0.7) which was the last that doesn't require FogBugz 8. I got the same error as above. I sent a request into FogBugz support and they ended up sending me version 1.0.5 of the plugin, which worked.

Does this sort of thing also happen with the 8.x versions of Linux FogBugz? I'm just curious if I should consider moving off the Linux platform should we decide to upgrade FogBugz to 8.x. I'd hate to be shut out of the latest version of certain plugins just because I was running Linux and not Windows.

This turned out to be a bug in fogbugz itself that went away when I updated to the 7.3.x version. – Todd Day Aug 15 at 2:16

Old, but I wanted to note that the latest versions of the KanBan plugin works fine with FogBugz 8.x on Linux. In fact, I have yet to find a single plugin which doesn't work well with our Linux installation of FogBugz.

  • OS: RHEL5.5
  • FogBugz version: 8.7.x
