While answering another question, I encountered weird behavior of the search list. Try this:
- List some filter
I used a saved filter with show:unread, listing all unread Wiki pages and unread cases in Outline view.
- Search for some common word
This shows 10 of the matching Wiki pages and 50 of the matching cases. In Flat view. I guess that's fine.
- Click
LIST MORE
Now I see all matching Wiki pages (in a flat list). The search terms are above the list (and in the search box): word type:"WikiPage"
- Switch Case Filter View to Grid View - Outline
The search changes to word type:"WikiPage" View:Outline as expected. But:
Nothing was found that matched.
Of course Outline isn't relevant for Wiki pages. But disallowing and/or ignoring it would be more friendly than just returning nothing.
- After realizing the problem, Switch Case Filter View 'back' to Grid View - Flat
The search changes to word type:"WikiPage" View:Flat.
Still:
Nothing was found that matched.
How can the user get his results back? It looks like the only way is removing View:Flat manually...?
- Now Switch Case Filter View to Table (in Chart)
This gives a message that is a little bit clearer than just showing nothing:
The filter "Number of Cases in All cases containing for type:"WikiPage" View:Outline" does not match any cases.
Ah, now I get it. Apparently as soon as I choose some view in Switch Case Filter View, only cases are shown. And those don't match type:WikiPage.
Can this be made a little bit more intuitive?
We use FogBugz Version 8.4.87 (DB 780, Build 1).
