I have a filter in FogBugz that searches on a set of correspondents using the 'Search For' item in the 'Refine Further' list.

correspondent:caroline OR correspondent:wayne OR correspondent:arthur OR correspondent:elliott OR correspondent:partridge

Up until today, this filter has worked fine, showing all the tickets that I expect.

However, there is now an open, active ticket in FB that is not being shown when I use this filter.

  • The correspondent field (in the ticket) has her address in it (it was emailed straight into the system from her, so it's not a spelling issue).
  • There are other tickets from this particular correspondent (caroline) that ARE showing in my filter.

I have tried creating a separate filter putting caroline's email address in the correspondent field and it's still not displaying the ticket, though it is displaying other (older) open tickets from her.

Are you using FogBugz On Demand or hosting FogBugz on your own server? If you're hosting FogBugz on your own server, what version are you currently running? Also, what shows up under Admin -> Site Configuration -> Search? I ask because this sounds like maybe the search indexer has not yet indexed the new case from caroline.

Also, what are the rest of the details for the filter you're using? Is there any chance that the filter is excluding the new case by only selecting cases in a certain project or with a certain category?

Hi db. We use FogBugz on Demand. Could have been the search indexer - didn't know to look there, so thanks for the hint. Index progress is showing 100% though that could have been the issue on Friday, as I can now see the case listed in my filter. No other details in the filter would have caused it to be excluded. Thanks for your help, I suspect an indexing delay may have been the cause. – leonie May 9 2011 at 9:14
