Feature Request: Allow editing in Grid View

It would be great if we can change parent of case by dragging it to new parent in cases list view.

Now there's a lot of friction in changing parent:

  1. Go to edit case.
  2. Enter new parent. You have to remember some keywords or case number to enter it. Though dynamic search is great, there can be a lot of cases with similar names.
  3. Save changes.
  4. Return to cases list view.

IMO too much steps. While having ability to drag case to new parent would allow to change parent in one action. Just drag'n'drop. It also should be possible to drag several cases at once.

It can be implemented as a plug-in.

+1 This is a great idea. – Uwe Raabe Apr 20 2011 at 7:18
I'm closing these as dupes of the "Allow editing in Grid View" question not to be a jerk, but because we're likely to solve a bunch of in-place editing and drag-and-drop issues at once. I'm sure that overhaul will not address all of these use cases, but even if it doesn't, we'd want to redo these in light of a completely new interface. – Rich Armstrong Apr 29 2011 at 17:07
