I don't have an up-to-date maintenance contract. Can I still get help from Fog Creek?

Absolutely. The point of the maintenance contract is not to hold people hostage. We'd like to earn your maintenance dollars with compelling new features that make it really hard to say no to an upgrade. We could require you to keep your maintenance contract up to date, but we don't. We do this to keep ourselves honest, to force ourselves to constantly earn and re-earn our customers' business. If you have an old version and no maintenance and something goes wrong, it's the worst possible time for us to refuse to help you! So we try to help everyone. The only thing here is that we do have plenty of happy customers who are current on their maintenance and in need of support. It'd be a disservice to our current customers if we made them wait while we helped you. So, yes, we will help you. But you might have to wait. |
