Yesterday I found I couldn't type an apostrophe (') in Google Chrome when using the Fogbugz WYSIWYG editor... apparently this is related to the snippets key, so I remapped that to the backslash ()

Now I can type apostrophes but can't type backslashes when composing HTML e-mails.

Is this a bug, or do I just need to find a completely unused character and assign that to my snippet key?

I had a similar issue. I remapped the snippets key to '~' but FB decided to activate on '@' instead. – Damian Powell Sep 20 at 11:37
Looks like '^' behaves as expected though. – Damian Powell Sep 20 at 11:44

Any chance you're using a non-US layout keyboard?

There is currently a known bug related to the HTML editor related to snippets activation keys and non-US keyboard layouts.

If this is the case, what layout keyboard are you using?

If not, what operating system and format language are you using? (e.g., on Windows this is found under Region an Language settings)

Once we have more consistent reproduction steps, we can more effectively tackle this bug.

UK keyboard shows this problem, but only in emails not in the test box – Robert Stocks Apr 1 2011 at 11:17
Yes, I'm afraid one of those 5.8 billion people on Planet Earth who are not from the United States. I'm using a British UK keyboard layout. – Dylan Beattie May 10 2011 at 21:12

Using a UK keyboard in HTML mode single quote gives an error, back quote does nothing. In plain text mode, back quote works, though on Win7-64bit you have to press back quote twice to get the snippet to fire and then delete the second back quote.

This should be addressed.
