FC-cust-supp suggested I post my mail to them here (edited):

I'd like to duplicate a wiki page, in order to facilitate cleaning it up. Basically, what I've got is a page that's way too big, and I'd like to duplicate it, then erase half of it on copy#1, and erase the other half on copy#2.

I WOULD just copy/paste the part I want to move, but that part includes a rather substantial bullet list and, no offense or anything, but bullet lists [are less than fully operational at this time].

(Have I mentioned recently that I LOVE FogBugz and it's wiki? I do. But bullet lists, not so much ;)

Anyway, I'm hoping to avoid the scenario whereby I copy/paste my bullet list to a new page and then spend the entire rest of the afternoon trying to correct the formatting, eventually giving up and just typing the whole thing from scratch.

(I have some experience in this area. These are not my most cherished moments with FogBugz... :\ )

So, rather than all that, I'd love to just duplicate the page then carve out the parts I don't want from each.

I found "move" which doesn't seem quite what I need, and "copy", which copies the page to a different wiki, but that's not quite it, either.

Can you offer hints about how to get what I want, here?

(Support answers: since wiki editing is supposed to work, there is no copy. However, I should post my request here and, if enough people like the idea, they'll consider implementing the stop-gap.)

Right now, there are two workarounds: either use a variation of copy-and-paste, or use the "Copy wiki page" functionality twice.

Method 1: Using Info -> Actions -> Copy

  1. Copy the page you want to duplicate into another wiki via Info -> Copy
  2. Edit the copy so that it has a different title
  3. Copy or move the duplicate (that now has a different name) back into the original wiki
  4. Edit to your heart's content :)

Method 2: Using copy-and-paste with HTML source

Another option (with FogBugz 8 or later) that wouldn't involve re-formatting all your bullet lists would be to do the copy in HTML Source mode:

  1. Edit the page you want to duplicate
  2. Click on the little < /> icon to switch into HTML Source mode
  3. Ctrl+a (to select all), and then copy selected text to your clipboard
  4. Create your new wiki page
  5. Click on the little < /> icon to switch into HTML Source mode
  6. Paste from your cliipboard
  7. Switch back into WYSIWYG mode by clicking on the < /> icon again
  8. Edit to your heart's content :)

I would also like this feature (upvoted it). In my case, I have template documents for specs that I want people to start from.
