We have been using the Creately plugin for the free trial period, and while we like it a lot we have hit on a big problem which may stop us buying it.

If a wiki page has a creately image, or images, on the page, if you view the wiki as an anonymous user all you get are red cross box images in IE and empty sections in Firefox.

If you right click and select the properties of the image, you can see the image should be being served up by the Creately plugin, but for some reason it doesn't.

A further look using FireBug shows the request goes into Fogbugz and I get a response, but the response is empty.

Any ideas what we may have missed in our setup.

We have enabled anonymous access for this wiki and we have tried both read and edit permissions.

UPDATE: Creately has published an updated version of their plugin on the Plugin Gallery that should fix this issue (see their answer below).

The current version of the Creately plugin in the Plugin Gallery is not configured to allow Anonymous (or Community Users for that matter) to view its images.

In order to change this, the folks that maintain the Creately plugin would need to modify their code.

Technical details: the BinaryPageVisibility function in the plugin is currently returning PermissionLevel.Normal which only allows Normal or Admin users to retrieve its contents (i.e., the images in this case).

Thanks for the info. We thought we were doing something wrong initially but when we had tried most browsers and across many PCs we realised it probably wasn't something we had done. Hope to see an update soon. – JonT Mar 16 2011 at 8:38

We have just released a version of Creately for FogBugz that can be downloaded from the Plugin Gallery. This version contains the fix for the above issue. Please let us know if you have any further concerns on support@creately.com.

Happy Diagramming!

We have uploaded the new plugin and I can confirm it is working for us for anonymous users. – JonT Mar 16 2011 at 16:18
