We have defined a variety of status for both "Active" and "Resolved" cases. Some of them are "Not started", "Running", "Pending" or "Stopped".

However, we have to change it manually (to "Running") when a case is selected in the "working on" menu option and change back it again manually (to "Pending" or "Stopped") when the another case is selected in the same menu option (or "none" is choosen).

Is there an easier way to automatize it?

Ray - did you ever work out a solution to this - we have exactly the same issue - would be really helpful to have the status change to "in progress" as soon as time starts being booked against a case? – Hugo Rodger-Brown Mar 7 2011 at 9:54

Dear Rich, The plug-in mentioned in your link is designed to assign a case to a user but not to set its "Status" property. Anyway, thanks for you answer! – Ray Jan 27 2010 at 11:19
