It seems like a backlog applies to an entire project. Is there a way to have each Area in a project have its own backlog? I know I could create separate projects, but I want to be able to generate one report with data from all areas rather than a separate report for each project.

Sorry, it's only possible to maintain a backlog at the project level. Not sure why this would affect reporting, though. What reports are you running?

Having a global project backlog doesn't affect reporting. Having muliple projects each with their own backlog since areas can't have their own backlog increases the reporting complexity. – Ben Defnet Feb 18 2011 at 22:28
