Hi,

is it possible to change combination to trigger snippet replacement or snippet dialogbox? We use Russian keyboard, and most time in case edits we use Russian language and Cyrillic layout, and to insert a snippet we need to change keyboard layout by pressing something like CTRL-Shift or ALT-Shift, then typing in snippet combination '' or snipetname' and then to change layout back by pressing CTRL-Shift or ALT-Shift. And it's extremely aggravating :(. Triggering snippets by changing layout makes snippets not so fast and comfortable to use as they designed to be.

If speaking of Cyrillic layout, we can use the same key (') to trigger snippets, because we have a letter ё there, and I can't imagine a situation if somebody needs to type ёё. But we still can use a single letter ё, though it is not so common, this letter is quite rarely used.

But as far as we use programming languages, we also need to trigger snippet replacement and dialogbox by ' and '' combinations. So we actually need several combinations to trigger snippets. It could be done via FogBugz options.

p.s.: sorry for using ' instead of backtick but the markdown gets crazy when I try to embed backticks in backticks block :)

If you go to

My Settings > Options
you can set your snippet activation key:

Snippet Activation Key

Perhaps one of the other options will work better for your keyboard?

(You do mention that "It could be done via FogBugz options" ... are you saying that none of the current options work for your keyboard?)

Yeah... looks like I've forget about this option :). Thanks for mentioning! I think, that '*' key on numpad keyboard block ideally fits everyone needs, because all the other mentioned symbols change their location when switching layout, and the '*' symbol on numerical keyboard always stays where it is. – Dmitry Lobanov Feb 9 2011 at 4:10
Why I can't accept this answer as an answer? There's no up and down votes, neither accept mark... That's strange. Tried in two browsers: Firefox 4.10 and Chrome. – Dmitry Lobanov Feb 9 2011 at 4:12

@Daniel: yes, of course. Right now I'm logged in, but I can't vote on your answer and can't accept it, there's just no arrows and accept sign. At the same time I see arrows and star near my question. I also see arrows in the answers to questions asked by other people. The same situation (I can't vote on answer and accept it) with one of my recent questions. – Dmitry Lobanov Feb 10 2011 at 18:22
Questions tagged feature-request have voting/accept buttons only on the question, not the answers. I removed the tag and you can now accept. – Rich Armstrong Apr 25 2011 at 14:06
