When using the up or down backlog controls on the "List cases" page, or editing the backlog priority when looking at the complete backlog, the page reloads (and in Chrome, doesn't re-prioritize the item at all) when a case has subcases, but the parent case is the one that is prioritized. This only happens when one or more of the subcases are in a different project than the parent case.

That's definitely a bug. Thanks for reporting it!

The problem has to do with backlog cases that have one or more subcases that belong to a different project than the parent case (i.e., the one that is in the backlog).

We have opened a case internally to fix this, but in the meantime, you can work around this by viewing your filter in "Grid View - Flat" mode:

Grid View - Flat

You won't be able to see subcases in this view, but the up/down arrows should work properly.

DB - I appreciate the response. We are using FogBugz On Demand. I cleared the browser cache, same issue. Did some trouble shooting this morning and the behavior only occurs when the subcases (in this cases, the tasks we created for the user stories which we have on the backlog) are in a different Project. We do this because we report by Project for our clients - but have a global backlog for all of our parent cases (User Stories). – Andrew Jan 13 2011 at 17:49
Forgot to mention - I tested in IE, Chrome and Firefox. The behavior is slower overall in IE, but usually moves the item on the backlog (though not without the JS error). In Chrome, it sometimes doesn't move the item in the backlog at all. – Andrew Jan 13 2011 at 17:51
Thanks db. The quick response is much appreciated. – Andrew Jan 13 2011 at 21:01
