I started a FogBugz Free Trial a few weeks ago. I have mostly working on converting our subversion repositories to Kiln. That effort is going well.

When I had a question about the conversion I went to kiln.stackexchange.com to ask the question. When asked to login, I seem to remember trying to use my trial login and it did not work. I was in a hurry and saw an openid option, so I logged in using my Google provided openid. However, my google openid is associated with my google email id. My FogBugz trial user id uses my work email id.

I would prefer to use the same (work email id) user id for the trial, kiln.stackexchange.com and fogbugz.stackexchange.com, but I do not see how to create kiln and fogbugz stackexchange.com userid's that use my work email id.

I was able to create new user in fogbugz.stackexchange.com to match my trial user id, but I cannot see an option on the kiln.stackexchange.com support page to create an account. It only displays options for logging in using OpenId.

How do I create a new kiln.stackexchange.com account that uses my work email address as a user id and then how do I login to kiln.stackexchange.com using that new id?

@Roger - See my updated answer. You should be able to register a non-OpenID kiln.se account now. – Rob Sobers Jan 10 2011 at 14:33

It looks like kiln.stackexchange.com is configured only to accept OpenID authentication. You're not doing anything wrong, we just configured the sites differently.

I'm going to look into whether we can allow email/password on kiln.stackexchange.com as well.

UPDATE: The Kiln Stack Exchange site now lets you use OpenID or register an account using your email address.
