I created some virtual users to use as placeholders until we purchased more licenses. I'm running into an issue now converting those virtual users into real users. When I switch them from Virtual User to Normal, I get an error saying the password must be at least 6 characters long. However I'm using LDAP authentication and the passwords are not defined within FogBugz. Any ideas for activating these users?

I was able to replicate this and I filed a bug. Thanks for the catch!

To work around this, you can temporary change the site authentication mode to FogBugz authentication, switch the user, type in a temporary password, and then switch back to LDAP. Make sure their name and email addresses for the user match exactly what is stored on the LDAP server. When the user logs in, he'll use his LDAP credentials, NOT the password you just set for him.

Up and running again. Thank you. – tstrimple Dec 7 2010 at 16:52
