I just noticed that attaching a file shows C:\fakepath\ before the filename while still editing:

I found a case that might be related, but that's about IE8 and I use Chrome.

The issues are one and the same. It's part of the spec for HTML 5 that you shouldn't be able to display the real local path when using an upload control that manipulates the string with JavaScript. There are exceptions, tweaks, work-arounds, and (as always) questionable implementations depending on your browsers, but it all boils down to that security spec.

Having said that, the attachment process should still work. If it doesn't, please get in touch with us! The only "bug" here should be that the real local path is masked.

You can find a few more details here.

It works fine, but FogBugz might want to hide the C:\fakepath\ part to avoid confusion. – Michel de Ruiter Nov 12 2010 at 13:29
Indeed you're right! We shouldn't display something so confusing; I've filed a case. – Bradford Nov 12 2010 at 21:16

From the tools-internet options-resulting from the tabs on the İnternet explorer Security tab. Click the custom level button in the middle. "Include local directory path when uploading files to a server" select "enable" under.OK and quit the application button. Then the real path.
