We have been using FB for quite some time, but our current database is not organized very well. We have started a new database on a trial basis and will want to somehow combine them so any outstanding issues in the old database can be merged into the new one with a 'project' type set to distinguish it from the new issues.
Question 1: How can we pull the active issues from the old database, set the project to 'oldIssues' and import them to the new database? Question 2: If we replace the old database with the new trial database, is there a way to access the old database in the future if the need arises?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

What do you mean by "not organized very well?" It's difficult for me to picture a level of disorganization which could not be hidden via appropriate filters and searches and a disciplined use of projects and areas. – James McLeod Nov 1 2010 at 0:24

Merging databases is very difficult and technically complex. It's pretty much the only service we don't offer to our customers. It would be far preferable to fix your current database than try to move to a new one.

You should probably contact us directly to figure out a best course of action.
