Currently I have a case with about 40 subcases. I'd like to move that parent case to another project, but when I do, the subcases are left in the original project.

There's probably something simple right under my nose that I've missed. Can you help?

Starting at the case you want to move, there's a link to case outline on the left. I'd click that, then select all, and perform a bulk edit.

There's no way to pass edits down to subcases except when resolving a case (and only resolution will change in that case).

Ok, so I clicked on the parent case to open. Then click 'case outline' on the left to open the case out line view. I clicked the very top checkbox to select all case, and then scrolled to the bottom of the page to click the 'Edit' button. It opens the bulk edit screen, but my only option is typing in the edit window. I can change the project, the priority, or to whom the case is assigned. – Ducain Oct 20 2010 at 19:50
You mean can't? I bet one of the subcases is closed. Sorry, I didn't consider that. In order to change a closed case's project, you have to first reopen it, then edit it. Alternatively, edit the search for outline:X to include status:open. – Ted Oct 20 2010 at 20:16
Yes, I meant "can't" sorry. And that's the problem then, because some of those subcases are already resolved. I would think what I'm trying to do would be default behavior. If you edit a parent case project, it only makes sense that any subcases would also belong to that project, no? Perhaps this is something that can put on the list. Would make this arduous task something that I could do in seconds. Thanks for the time. – Ducain Oct 21 2010 at 17:09
