It seems like the answer may be in the question 'Is there anyway to merge cases?' but I'm not getting it. Occasionally, I see that there are several cases which started as individual tasks but I would like to group them under a larger master (without creating a new project) case. I can always go in and create a sub case, is there a way to create a master case to an existing case or assign a case to be a sub case of an existing case.

Yes, you can do this. You can use the "Parent Case" field to assign a parent to a case. You can also do this as a part of a bulk operation: you can select a bunch of cases, click edit, and enter a case number in the "Parent Case" field, click OK, and all of these cases will share the same parent. If you don't see the "Parent Case" field when you are editing a case, then it is hidden. To show it, click edit on any case and go to the "Add Fields" box (it's near the bottom on the left hand column...below priority, tags, estimate, etc.), expand it, and click on "Parent Case" to add that field to your case. |
