I have a very strange behavior in Fogbugz. When creating a new feature, the case is automatically assigned the status "Resolved (Spam)" when I save cases for the first time. To fix this I need to click reactivate for each case after I have saved it.

When creating a new Inquiry, the case is assigned the status Resolved (Canceled) automatically. When creating new Scheduled Item the case is assigned the status Resolved (Responded) automatically.

If I create a new Bug the functionality is the way I would expect. That is the case has the status Active after I have saved it for the first time.

I had the same problem before the Fogbugz 8 upgrade. I am using the free startup version of Fogbugz on Demand.

Does anyone know why cases in other category than Bug get Resolved status assigned automatically? This is rather annoying behavior. I hope that someone can assist me. I love the systems except this "minor" problem.

Are you using the Workflow plugin? You may have accidentally set up a workflow that causes this behavior. Try disabling the plugin, and see if you still have this issue. – Daniel LeCheminant Oct 5 2010 at 13:42

Looking at some individual customer reports we worked on via email, it seems the fix here is to:

  1. Make sure the Workflow plugin is installed and enabled
  2. Edit your workflow settings and check them over for the wrong icons showing up, resolved statuses in the wrong places and anything else unusual
  3. Make sure the settings are correct and save the workflows

If this doesn't fix it, please send us an email.

Hi,

No it isn't enabled. I tried disabling all other Fogbugz plugins after your response but that didn't help :(.

One thing I have actually also noticed which might be related to my problem is that the icons seem to be mixed in the category drop down box. The bug category has the light bulb and the inquiry has the red "bug" icon.

Why this is happening in my account I just can't figure out.

On a different case, cant remember which, the icons problem was solved by ENABLING the workflow plugin. It seems to be a critical part of the system, even though it's a plugin. – cdeszaq Oct 8 2010 at 16:09
