Over the last couple of days, I am randomly logged out of Fog Bugz on demand.

Using the same Windows 7 and Chrome browser.

I can't get the error to occur consistently, however, it seems to happen often when I change a filter from my filters menu.

I reviewed: http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/447/i-cant-stay-logged-in

But I don't believe this is it.

  1. Is anyone else having this issue?
  2. Beyond cookies, what else might I check?

Please note: I will try tomorrow on different browsers, but I have not had an issue before with Chrome or other sites.

Thanks.

I know you said it's not a cookie issue, but it's almost certainly a cookie issue :) Clear your cookies, and make sure you check off the "remember me" checkbox under the password box on the login page. – Michael Pryor Oct 27 2009 at 2:50

This turned out to be a bug in Chrome. See this answer for how to fix it: fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/507/… – Babak Ghahremanpour Dec 2 2009 at 20:56

Michael, I'll give it a try and get back to you on it.

Michael. It turned out to be an issue with Chrome version 4 or greater.

I noticed the behavior in PHPmyadmin. Once I saw it on a different app, I downgraded Chrome to a more stable channel and the issue resolved. Thanks.

This is bug with Google Chrome which has been fixed in Chrome version 4.0.249. It has been reported elsewhere, by other people, and for other sites (including GMail and iGoogle).

Chrome 4.0.249 is currently only available from the Chromium Developer Early Release Channel or "dev channel" for short. If you want to change your channel to the dev channel, go here to install the Google Chrome Channel Changer and follow the instructions to upgrade Chrome:

FWIW, this happens to me as well, in Chrome 4.0.223.

I have not seen it in any other web apps, and I have to believe there is something non-standard being done. Of course, I can't use Firebug to figure it out, so sort of a Catch-22...

I'm getting the same thing in Chrome latest dev build and Windows 7. If I refresh a few times rapidly, I get signed out. Or after viewing cases. I'm assuming its a Chrome issue like the others, just wanted to make a note of it in case it's something else.

The Chrome dev channel build has some kind of cookie bug. I suggest reporting it to Google.

I'm having the same problem. Chrome v.4.0.223.16.

For me, it suddenly started happening today, I've used FogBugz with Chrome for months. I'm not aware of having updated Chrome recently, so my impression is something must have changed in FogBugz.

I'll have to use my IE now, just for FogBugz. Not impressed.

Comments: I'm new here, so I'm not allowed to comment, so I'll comment in my post:

@Michael Pryor: I checked cookie settings in Chrome. All cookies are allowed. I cleared all cookies and it didn't help. I also checked "remember me" to no avail (it shouldn't be necessary either!). You mention the "Chrome dev channel". I have no idea what that is, but my Chrome is a release version, and works with all other sites. So I must conclude that FogBugz is doing something wrong here.

@Sean: I'm happy for you, but I refuse to downgrade Chrome :-|
