I'm using outlook as my RSS reader and don't feel comfortable appending my plain-text login credentials to the url...

"Click here to log on to your FogBugz account to access the RSS feed. If your RSS reader does not support cookies, add this to the end of the feed link to store your FogBugz username and password: &sEmail=youremailaddress&sPassword=yourPassword"

It appears that the RSS feed for Kiln activity uses some sort of auth token[?]. Does the 'case' RSS feed have a similar ability?

Yes, but not directly.

You can use the FogBugz XML API to retrieve a login token and then use this with the RSS feed url.

So, if the RSS feed url looks like http://[your FogBugz]/default.asp?pg=pgRss&ixBug=[ixBug], just append &token=[your XML API token].

E.g.

http://youraccount.fogbugz.com/default.asp?pg=pgRss&ixBug=407&token=momquei8281l0knptdud7174ngakr2

Uh... shouldn't we just be doing that for you (or maybe use something slightly less general than an API token) instead of telling you to put plaintext password in your feed URL? – Aaron Maenpaa Sep 23 2010 at 17:59
works exactly as you described. thanks! – bluevoodoo1 Sep 23 2010 at 17:59
@Aaron I'm totally in favor of this happening behind the scenes...just like it does for a custom Kiln activity feed. But, in the meantime, this workaround will get you there. :) – db Sep 23 2010 at 20:27
