Would it be possible to move the "insert link" and "insert picture" actions off the "insert" menu and on to their own top-level buttons in the toolbar? When you're building a page with a lot of links or pictures, that extra click adds up. Most instances of CKEditor I use, have them at the top level (e.g. Drupal, etc.).

Example

Alternately, maybe we could be allowed to drag and drop toolbar buttons ourselves to customize our editor?

Darg/Drop would be MUCH preferred...not everyone has the same needs – cdeszaq Sep 16 2010 at 19:07

Thank you for the feature request! I have opened a case. Please up-vote the question above to show your support for seeing this implemented.

Just as a little background: When moving from our existing wiki editor to CKEditor, we wanted to make sure the user experience was at least relatively pleasant at smaller screen resolutions. As a result, we tried to minimize the number of icons displayed on the toolbar. You'll also noticed that we've also tried to keep a close symmetry between the FogBugz 6/7 editor toolbar:

and the new FogBugz 8 editor toolbar:

This was partially because the old editor seemed to work well for our customers, but also because we wanted to ease the transition to our new editor. We'll definitely consider changing things though as more of our customers transition to FogBugz 8.
