Why doesn't FogCreek have a public view of their FogBugz cases? Many companies are making their bugbases available publicly and it's a great resource and encourages customer participation.

Microsoft, Adobe, Atlassian, JetBrains all have public bugbases.

The super simple reason is that FogBugz doesn't support public view of cases. This is something that we've considered adding a few times, but it's never made it to being a top priority. I guess we could switch to a different bug tracker, but at that point we'd probably all just quit and go home.

Also, we're using the StackExchange platform as our public support forum, which we think encourages even better community participation.

Thanks for the response. Lack of a public view is one of our biggest issues with FogBugz (besides reporting, which hopefully is fixed in 8.0). – Samuel Neff Sep 16 2010 at 22:55
I think you're going to like reporting in 8.0 :) Also, have you checked out the Community Case List plugin? It's simple, but it gives your community users basic status info for cases in a given project or projects. – adambox Sep 20 2010 at 18:52
