Hi,

it would be great if the FogBugz Screenshot could in addition to "Current Window" and "Entire Screen" grab any picture already on the Clipboard. This will solve, e.g. capturing windows with open context menus.

This will also make it easier to edit screens in other applications, copy to clipboard and then send it to FogBugz.

Thanks!

I'm marking this status-evaluate. That doesn't mean I'm just going to let it sit. Frankly I'm a little behind on the StackExchange angle. With DevDays going on, we're a little shorthanded. I promise to come back to this. Please feel free to leave clarifications or suggestions. – Rich Armstrong Oct 21 2009 at 22:44
I'm cool with that :) Good luck with DevDays! – Peter Oct 22 2009 at 6:26
@Rich - any updates on this? Also, I'm curious as to how you follow up on questions posted here in general. For instance, I have a question that is actually a bug report but it has gotten no response whatsoever. – Peter Dec 23 2009 at 11:59
As indicated in the footer of every page, please email or call us if you have something that can't wait. Eventually, we'll be able to provide a service level on FogBugz.StackExchange, but that's not the case right now. – Rich Armstrong Dec 31 2009 at 18:00

In general, if people need better functionality from our screen shot tool, we recommend they check out SnagIt, which has much more robust functionality. There's also bugshooting.net, which is free and has some better functionality. With other pressing feature requests that can increase sales and have no clear workaround, it's not likely that we'll be able to get developer time to dedicate to feature requests for the screen shot tool. I hope this doesn't come off as a brush-off. I'm just giving a realistic outlook for the feature request.

And don't forget that SnagIt has a free FogBugz output available, so it really is a complete drop-in replacement for the FogBugz screenshot tool that does so much more. – Joel Spolsky Jan 9 2010 at 17:16
