We've got each developer trained to tell FogBugz what they are working on, and they know that each case they work on needs estimated time.

But how do I find out what each developer is working on, at any given moment? It seems like there should be a screen somewhere that shows which case each developer is currently on, with elapsed time, and so on, but I can't find this screen anywhere.

I'm also looking for something like previous timesheets, but this also is proving hard to discover.

Check out the "FogBugz News Network" plugin (FNN). It gives you exactly who is working on what at the present time (Accessible from the Extras menu in the top-right)

For the timesheet things, other plugins such as the FogBugz timesheet plug-in provide those sorts of information, but as far as I know, there are no free ones.

That FNN plugin seems perfect. I'm sort of amazed that there is no native way to review timesheets. – Shane Bonham Sep 10 2010 at 18:02

I believe the reasoning behind not developing the time-tracking more within the system (and letting plugins do it instead) is it keeps the scope of FogBugz itself small, which means that they can do what they do best (case management) better and let others worry about the other things. You'll find that there are a number of other aspects where this same trade-off exists, and in almost all cases it has led to FB being better and tighter rather than trying to be everything for everybody – cdeszaq Sep 10 2010 at 18:06
@cdeszaq Could not have put it better myself. – Rich Armstrong Sep 13 2010 at 14:26

The Clark Kent plugin can generate a timesheet for any user/project and period, and it's free. I tend to export them to CSV for further processing.
