I have FB8/Kiln2 installed on my own server. I'm trying to get a custom landing page configured that would be suitable for my public facing support area.

There are many things that seem to need customization to remove FogBugz/Kiln/FogCreek branding, etc. I'd love a comprehensive guide to configuring the FB wiki for the purposes of a public support area. Bonus points if the solution isn't a hack. :)

Some concrete examples:

The FogBugz/Kiln links at the top. Can I just remove them in the template? I didn't see them in the template but perhaps I missed them.

Favicon, of course. I saw another post requesting a custom favicon.

The "Register" link takes me to a page that is also full of FC/FB/Kiln branding. Any way to customize that? BTW, the FC logo appears on that page instead of my custom logo for some reason and the styles seem to be different from the rest of the site. Perhaps a bug or misconfiguration on my part.

Regarding "the FC logo appears on that page instead of my custom logo", you found a bug! I've opened a case to have it fixed. Thanks! – Jude Allred Sep 14 2010 at 17:06
I just updated Jude's answer to include a link to his blog post: fogcreek.com/FogBugz/blog/post/… Let us know if you have more questions after looking at that. – adambox Sep 14 2010 at 21:08

A partial answer:

The FogBugz/Kiln links, the Register/Log On area, etc., aren't a component of the template, so you have to use a little sneakiness if you wish to remove them. An easy way is to place this bit of JavaScript in a script tag within your template's html:

$('#tbFull').hide();

That will get rid of the entire header area.

The Register, Logon, etc., pages are exempt from your wiki template. If you want to customize those, the easiest way is to use BugMonkey to inject your own custom CSS and JavaScript.

You can also take a look at this blog post on customizing landing pages.

Thanks, this helps me hack away the stuff I don't want/need. – JR Sep 14 2010 at 2:07
