Is this inconsistent behaviour by design or just an over sight. When adding a series of new Feature Requests sometimes I forget to change the Category. I like the way the Area is remembered from the last new case. It's not a show stopper as one edit and its Category is now correct as a Feature Request, but it is a little annoying at the time. |

With the Workflow plugin installed, you can specify which Category is the default for new cases. There's a feature request open to allow this to be specified per-project. What you're asking for seems sensible as well, and there's a pretty quick and easy way to achieve this via bookmarklets. I've got a bookmarklet for new bug, new feature, and new inquiry. When I click it one of them, it creates a new FogBugz case with the category and project pre-configured. Here is how you create bookmarklets. |
