The status drop down is grayed out and I can't change the status. I've looked around and don't find where i can enter in the different status types. Was hoping someone could help me out.
Thanks shannon

There are essentially three statuses, Active, Resolved (somehow) and Closed. When you first open a case, it becomes Active. The status dropdown list is disabled because there is no need for it. Opening a case and setting it's status to resolved or closed wouldn't make sense. If the issue is already resolved, why would you be opening a case? When you resolve the case, then the status dropdown list becomes enabled and you get to select its status (i.e., "Resolved (Fixed)", "Resolved (Duplicate)", "Resolved (Won't Fix), etc.). |

In order to gain control over the status (such as to be able to change it when typically you are not able to or add new statuses to the main categories that Greg mentioned) you need to use the Workflow plugin. This will let you do what you want and much, much more. |
