Can I create accounts that are limited to project 'Areas'?

When hiring contractors we would like to give them access to the tasks and bugs that are related to their specific task but not give them access to the whole project. Is this possible? I am looking for as much granularity as possible, even if it was limiting them to a specific task tree within an area.

Thanks.

EDIT: From what I can tell I have to create a new separate project and then assign their tasks to that project then assign a group to that project and assign the contractors to that group?

Note: the use of groups to assign permissions has changed in FogBugz 8: fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/4331/… – adambox Nov 4 2010 at 18:56

Granularity for what you are trying to do is at the Project level, not the Area level; in other words, if your contractors have access to a Project, they have access to all the Areas in that Project.

We've done something very similar to what you describe in your edit: we created a new, separate project and give access to that project but not the others.

Update: I should add this is the way it works for FogBugz 7; version 8 might be different.
