I never saw a ticket number being sent to my email after assigning myself a Case. Why is that so? How do I see it?

Email notifications will not be sent for actions that you take on yourself. The logic is that you already know that you're assigning yourself a case, so you don't need an email notification. If someone else assigns a case to you, and you don't get an email, check your user settings to make sure email notifications are turned on.

Additionally, the "ticketurl" or "ticket number" is sent to non-fogbugz users as a way for them to check the status of a case they opened. It isn't for users who can log in. See this article on handling customer email.

You should have a seen a case but in any event you can search FogBugz using assignedto:"me" opened:"today".

I don't think he's asking about finding a case that has been assigned to him. I think the question is the lack of the "ticketurl" in the email notification that is sent from FogBugz when a case is opened. – adambox Jul 27 2010 at 18:57
