The List Cases page allows me to configure which columns are displayed. Alas, the "Release Notes" property isn't one of the available options.

I would like to be able to show a "Release Notes" column in the Bug listing. The column should allow for quick editing of release notes.

Similarly, it would be nice if I could filter based on the presence of release notes (e.g. I'd like to find a list of resolved bugs that do not yet have release notes).

I have opened a case to consider this feature for a future release. Please up-vote this question (not this answer) to show your support for adding this feature.

In the meantime, a plugin could be written to add a column to the grid view using the IPluginGridColumn interface.

Fogbugz makes it easy to view and edit release notes by selecting the Release Notes Report in the Reports drop down menu. There you can choose project, milestone and get all closed cases. Fogbugz then returns a list of cases where you can edit release notes and also see which cases do not have release notes. You can even click on the XML or HTML links to compile the list of the release notes as a single file.

Here is the link for more info on release notes

The Release Notes Report is actually quite helpful, but doesn't have the fine-grained filtering of the case report and you save or bookmark a Release Notes Report filter. However, the "Release Notes" column in the report is EXACTLY what I'd like to see available in Case Listings. – nonplus Jul 7 2010 at 14:25
The Release Notes Report also doesn't have a hierarchical case view, which is the biggest problem for me. – Kevin K Jan 31 2011 at 21:47
Yes - the big thing missing for us is filtering by area. That would allow us to have a single "Acme" project split into "trunk" and "bugfix" areas. Right now we have to have "Acme Trunk" and "Acme Bugfixes" as two separate projects meaning we have to use global milestones to manage our sprints. With many projects we end up with a confusing number of global milestones. – Steve Baxter Feb 29 at 14:45

I would like to add my support for this too! we would reallyt like to include release notes in filtering and list of cases.

Thanks Eric

This feature would also be very helpful for us too.

We use hierarchy extensively, and features that do not use it are almost useless.
