We have virtual users created for each of our four development teams. However, determining the workload for a team is not straightforward.

Here is the desired behavior:

When displaying cases assigned to a virtual user, also display the cases assigned to the users who are members of that team.

My guess is that a plugin is the way to go here. Correct?

I would make each of the development teams a separate group, each with its own set of projects, and make one or more virtual users for each group as required. This would allow you to filter by group.

I'm not sure this would meet our needs. If a case moves from being assigned to a group to an individual, it wouldn't show in the group filter, would it? – KevDog Jun 9 2010 at 13:39
The group and the assignee are (more-or-less) independent. Cases are both assigned to (real or virtual) individuals and raised against a project which is associated with a group. The filter by group will show all projects associated with that group regardless of the assignee. – James McLeod Jun 9 2010 at 13:52
How can you filter by group? There doesn't seem to be an option to do this. – Steve Baxter Jan 31 2011 at 14:47
My mistake; I don't believe this is possible. I must have been thinking of something else. – James McLeod Jan 31 2011 at 15:13

If separate groups doesn't meet your needs, you could write a plugin which would add a search axis and filter option. Please let us know if you need help with plugin development.
