We're using LDAP authentication and are implementing automated builds and continuous integration on our FogBugz/Kiln install.

When I tried to add out build user, FogBugz complained that it didn't have an LDAP email attribute (our build user doesn't and shouldn't). After some arm twisting, our admin created an email address for this user, but is not happy with having an active, unmonitored email account.

Question: Is it OK if, once the user is set up, we let our IT admin disable the email address? The build user shouldn't be receiving any emails from FogBugz. It only uses the email address to authenticate with FogBugz and Kiln (to do pull changes, update some case attributes and create cases when the build breaks).

This shouldn't be a problem, but I would turn off notifications for that user, especially if your notification return address is set to a FogBugz mailbox (as opposed to do-not-reply@domain.com).

Otherwise, if someone accidentally assigns a case to that user, FogBugz would fire off a notification e-mail, which would bounce back to the FogBugz Mailbox and get appended to the case, which would then fire off a notification e-mail...rinse and repeat.

No, we have a number of users that we don't want to be virtual for a few reasons, and have set these up with bogus email addresses. This works fine and the user can still log in.
