I have created a project, assigned milestones and resources etc. but the 1% probability for completion is next year (although work on the project cases has already started) but the due date for completion is July 2010
what am I missing?

A couple things that you may want to check. Under "My Settings => Working Schedule" make sure that your workday hours match what you plan to work and that the "% time spent on FogBugz tasks" matches what you plan to spend on the given task. If I change my schedule so that I'm work from 8am to 9am and take 1 hour lunch (even though it starts at noon), EBS says I'll never finish my tasks. |

Evidence-Based Scheduling will predict your ship date for a range of probabilities. The due date for the milestone you create is only a nominal date for you to manage the project, and also to put the milestones in order for display (and for EBS to know what you are working on first).
