We have a custum field "fixed in version" where the developers enter the exact build number when the bug is fixed. Normaly they should also change the milestone at the same time to the correct service pack which will contain the bugfix. But they forget this all the time. And I will see the fault when the case is closed.

Is there a way to change the milestone of a closed case without reopen it?

I'd like this too. I've had numerous occasions where a case was closed on the wrong milestone and it took too many steps to fix it. Perhaps with a confirmation prompt so the user realizes they are changing a closed case? – JohnFx May 10 2010 at 14:45
Tried to upvote this feature request but system told me the case was too old to change the vote on. – Joe Solano Jan 10 at 15:15

i went through reopening like 20 cases yesterday only to be able to move them to another milestone... this feature would have helped me several times already. – stmax Jun 16 2010 at 21:20

Yes, would definitely like this feature. It's a hassle for me and everyone who gets meaningless notification emails when I have to go through a bunch of Closed cases, opening, editing, Resolving, and Closing them :)

It seems this problem is similar to this: Edit tags on closed case
