Hi All,

We installed the "Custom Workflow" plugin from Fog Creek so that we could have a new case type called "Task" since many cases really are just that; rather than a bug or a feature.

I am now using the 'Release Notes' section under 'Reports' to create the list of changes for our upcoming version release.

However, when I select the milestone for the version and then select "Cases with work done" in the pull down list, the report does not show any of the cases that were categorized as 'Tasks'. Even though these cases are in fact done with the status of 'Closed (Completed)'.

The only way to view them is to select "All Cases", for the report, which is misleading and error prone since someone could easily forget to list all cases since release notes by definition only list changed that are complete.

Is this a bug in FobBugz or the Custom Workflow plugin?

Thank you for any help or input.

Jim

What version of FogBugz are you using? – Kris K. Mar 16 2010 at 4:55
I'm running FogBugz Version 7.1.13 (DB 737, Build 1493) on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine with MySQL. – Jim Duffy Mar 16 2010 at 22:31

Make sure that the resolved status you're using for the tasks is set to be counted by EBS as "work done". Go to Admin -> Workflow and click Statuses. Expand the section for your Task category and edit the resolved status(es) and make sure that "Use for calculating estimate history" is checked. This will cause them to show up in the Release Notes report when you choose cases with work done.

This seems odd...release notes have nothing to do with calculating estimate history. – cdeszaq Mar 16 2010 at 20:15
Thanks Adam, I made those changes and the closed 'Task' cases are now showing in the Release Notes report. Though I agree that it's an odd way of obtaining the desired behavior.. – Jim Duffy Mar 16 2010 at 22:41
Release notes needs to know if the work was actually done, as opposed to being resolved "won't implement" (you wouldn't want to tell your customers about un-implemented features!) so it uses the same setting to determine work-done as EBS – adambox Mar 17 2010 at 14:53
