In Windows, the easiest and cheapest way to run FogBugz is to use SQL Server Express (it's fast and free).

In Windows, the easiest and cheapest way to run FogBugz is to use the Microsoft Jet 4.0 database engine. Jet 4.0 is the guts inside Microsoft Access 2000 -- all the database storage stuff without the pretty face. The best part is, Microsoft gives it away for free!

• If you have Access 2000 installed, you should have Jet 4.0
• If you have Windows XP or later, you should have Jet 4.0
• Otherwise, you can download it free from Microsoft's web site.

To download Jet from Microsoft's website, go to http://www.microsoft.com/data/download.htm and download these two things:

• MDAC 2.6 Release (requires at least IE 4.01 SP2 be installed on NT server)
• Jet 4.0 Service Pack 3 Release
