I have just started using the backlog plugin. As I set the backlog number for all of the work items for the sprint I noticed that one case was number 1 when I had not set it. I cannot change that number one, either in the grid view ( move to bottom etc ) or by editing the backlog field in the case edit view. It also does not get the backlog arrow decoration for moving case down in the list. It looks likes the backlog doesnt really recognize that the case has a backlog number assigned to it.

Is that case in a different project by chance? Backlog values are always per-project, so if that case is the only one with a backlog value in that project, it will be locked at value 1.

Thank you, it is. I organize my work by milestone, with items from multiple projects all in the same global milestone. – Jon Hart Feb 4 2010 at 18:04
That's exactly my problem too. Thanks for the response! – Jaydel Mar 17 2010 at 4:44

The latest version of Project Backlog will update your filter sort order if you sort on Backlog as the primary. It will set Project to primary instead since the backlog is per-project and it doesn't make sense to mix cases from multiple projects together.
