In the error reports I get from users of my plugin a standard header is included that looks like this.

Plugin Id: FNN@improvingsoftware.com
Version: 1.1.5.0

Error: Error details here with stack trace...

It would be helpful for me when chasing down problems to also have some additional information including:

  • FogBugz Version
  • Did the error occur in a local install or FBOD
  • Web Server platform (Windows, *nix, etc.)

Good point. Especially the FB version, since some issues are not related to the plugin but to FB.

I had a user report to me a bug where actually the shadow folder was overflowing, giving him a disk full error, and this just happened while my plugin was loading.

I've also been getting a number of error reports lately that turned out to be FB or system-wide issues that are not necessarily related to my plug-in. – JohnFx Feb 2 2010 at 20:58

You're right, these should contain a lot more data on the install and platform, and I have added a case to a near-term Milestone to address this.
