Is it posible to assign (normal/admin) users to projects specifically ? So that only certain users can be assigned tasks within a certain project.

It seems that you can assign any user to any project which is not preferable for us.

The new permissions system in FogBugz 8 allows you to assign permissions for groups of users and for individual ones.

I've created a normal user Z and gave him no rights to group X. I then assigned project Y to group X. When i create a new case i can still assign the case to Z eventhough he has no access in Group X. – Martijn Laarman Jan 6 2010 at 15:03

We don't stop you from assigning the case to user Z, but the following warning should have appeared at the top of the case: "Warning. This case is assigned to Z, who does not have permission to read it. Please assign it to somebody else or have an administrator give Z permission to access cases associated with the 'X' group." Did that warning not appear? – db Jan 6 2010 at 18:40

Also, just to clarify, the reason you can assign the case to Z is because you're an administrator. If a regular user is modifying a case in project Y, user Z won't show up in the "Assign to" drop-down list at all since they don't have access to read cases in that project/group. – db Jan 6 2010 at 19:41
