I work at a fairly large company (>500 FB users) that has recently started using FB. I want to start using EBS, but when I look at the report I can't find a way to either filter who's estimates I see or when they're for. Unfortunately some people seem to be estimating quite badly, so EBS is going completely nuts:

There are obviously two problems here:

  1. Horizontally: I obviously don't care about any dates past a certain time (let's say, the end of the year, though this example goes almost to the next millenium!). I'd like to be able to set an end date and just cut off the display of anything beyond that.
  2. Vertically: I don't really want to see all 50 people who have entered estimates - I'm not a manager. I'd like to only see my estimates, or at most those in a certain group (eg a certain list of people).

It seems to me that with EBS working this badly, we have a significant chicken-and-egg problem for adopting it. I have absolutely no motivation to enter good estimates if I can't see this chart, and if it only takes one person anywhere in the company with a really bad estimation history to send the program completely nuts, it seems unlikely that we'll get this to work very often. Also, I can't sell this feature to my manager, because he can't filter down to just his group!

If there's a way to filter and I've just missed it, please let me know. Otherwise, can you please add filtering so that companies migrating to FB can start using it gradually, group-by-group, instead of depending on everyone to immediately move over to the FB way of doing things?

The inability to filter by person/group alone also caused me to abandon using this feature about 6 months ago when I was testing out different scheduling-based software. I agree that this is a deal-breaker for even attempting to use this feature. – Seth Koehler Sep 5 at 13:46
Like the gentleman above, we tried this, but it didn't work. I too would love to use this to track estimates. – Eddy Sep 5 at 17:31

Thanks for the feature request! We'll file it as an official request when it reaches our top 100 feature requests by votes. To get it there, vote up this question!

I am also interested in this request. I have seen that EBS only works at the project level. But it will be good if I can select an arbitrary set of cases and get an EBS for them. Of course I may need to tell the fogbugz early enough that I am interested in that group by either creating hierarchical tasks OR a tag or a project/area combination.

I completely agree with Adrian.

I'm interested in all the charts: Be it the "Burn Down Chart" or "Per-User Completion Dates" or whatever. Back in Dec 2010, when I started FB, my biggest wish-list was to track my own burn-down chart to help diagram my Agile iterations. I didn't care for everyone else in the company.

In summary, I like to be able to do the following:

  1. By default, I want to see only my cases (or at least the cases selected by my current filter). That is, they should chart only the cases shown by the "List Cases" tab.

  2. By the same token, if I wanted to track everyone in a group, I can just change my filter and see them tracked in the charts.

  3. I want to limit the timeline as well. I would like to specify a range, such as a Begin Date and an End Date.

I've been seriously awaiting for this. Please make this change! (:
