Is editing of release notes via XML API possible? Documentation mentions only
sReleaseNotes
element (without any example of its format), but nothing about editing. I tried to use cmd=edit with
sReleaseNote=Hello
(and also
sRelaseNotes
), but nothing happened.

Would you consider adding this feature to the XML API?

I'm using FogBugz On Demand. I have several cases that have been opened, estimated, worked on, and resolved as "(completed)" by me, yet when I go to the "My estimation history" report, I get the message that I have no historical estimates. Why?

I use a customized category of "task" for most cases instead of the standard bug, feature, inquiry, schedule item, etc., would that make a difference?

Is there a minimum number of cases that must be resolved after estimating before they show up in your estimation history?

Does the "time charged against it" have to be through "Working On" then stopping? Several tasks were done offline and my timesheet was manually edited later.

I'd like the case history text that is generated when I add a subcase to include a hyperlink to the subcase.

Example text:

Edit: it would also be really nice to have a link to the subcase included in any notification emails that are generated as a result of adding a subcase.

The upgrade went smoothly, but that was a drastic step, it should be optional or better yet stop the app pool; and a warning.

Sometimes, putting the whole name into the search is not convenient because it's too long. Or sometimes, the whole name of one project is a substring of several others, (e.g., searching for area:"spam" returns cases in both the Spam and Not Spam area because they both contain the substring "Spam"). How do I search on an axis, e.g.
Project:
for an exact match? When I search for
Project:"foo"
I get results for a project called
"foobar"
. Or less abstractly,
Milestone:"Widget 1.0"
returns cases with the milestone
"Widget 1.0.5"

Current behaviour of the wiki Page Hierarchy seems to be to order sibling articles in alphabetical order. Under the Hierarchy browse-menu in the wiki-page-nav left panel, the current page's parent, children and siblings are shown. In the full Page Hierarchy reached from the Page Hierarchy link under the Page Collections browse-menu (also in the left panel), the full hierarchy can be seen from an expandable tree. In both those displays articles that share the same parent are ordered alphabetically.

In the Edit Mode of the page hierarchy users can move pages between levels but within those levels ordering is always alphabetical.

Feature Requests:

1- provide the ability to specify the order of articles that share the same level in the hierarchy

2- change the default order of pages within the same level to the order they appear on the page, rather than alphabetical

Either one or both of these would be beneficial to me. I see #1 as the more flexible of the two, but personally I suspect if I had #2 I wouldn't use #1 that much

http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/1385/feature-request-solution-for-too-many-projectsFeature Request - Solution for too many projectsbrandongoldman.com2010-01-10T20:02:08Z2011-08-31T05:20:52Z

I do a wide variety of freelancing projects, the number of projects
within my FogBugz instance is larger than at a company that only supports a
few products. Within a year, there could be well over 100 projects, and this
would clearly make the product more difficult to use, specifically by
overflowing the reports menu, and increasing the number of choices on all
project selection dropdowns, making it more difficult to find the correct
project.

I know that you have a feature to delete projects. I tried deleting a
project and noticed that it remained part of the account, and could be
undeleted later. However, when I deleted a project, I could not filter past
cases on the project. For completed projects, I would like to be able to see
past cases, time spent, and other data, which I cannot do with deleted
projects in the current state.

I propose two solutions:

1) Create a new filter category for "Deleted Projects" which would function
identically to how the "Projects" filter works, except the dropdown would
only show deleted projects. This would solve the problem by allowing me to
view data on deleted projects.

2) Create a new action for archiving projects which would function similar
to how deleting projects works now. Then create a new filter category for
"Archived Projects" which would function identically to how the "Projects"
filter works, except the dropdown would only show archived projects.

We recently upgraded from FogBugz 6 to 8.0.26. I'm trying to get LDAP authentication to work against OpenLDAP (slapd 2.4.11), with very discouraging results.

When I specify LDAPS://ldap.example.com/dc=example,dc=com for the URL, Fogbugz connects to port 636 of my LDAP server, but does not attempt to start a secure connection. (Instead it just dumps a plaintext BIND request, which the secure LDAP server ignores)

I'd like very much to be able to use SSL for the connection to the LDAP server. There does not seem to be a way to configure this. Am I missing something?

http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/1993/support-feature-request-ability-to-anonymize-fogbugz-databaseSupport Feature Request - Ability to "Anonymize" FogBugz DatabaseJames McLeod2010-02-16T13:58:09Z2011-05-16T18:50:29Z

I am administrator of a FogBugz installation for a client with very strict rules about protecting data. Occasionally, I find, or have reported to me, bugs which seem to lie in FogBugz. Often, the best way to get these resolved would be to submit the database, but I am not in a position to do so. It would be great if someone could provide a mechanism (e.g. a MySQL script, a standalone script or executable which can modify MySQL dump file, or even a plug-in) which does, at a minimumn, the following:

Drop the attachment table (except maybe for entries which correspond to icons used by FB - I think some are stored here)

Anonymize all names, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers in the user database (to e.g. User #1, etc)

Anonymize all projects (renaming them to e.g. Project #1, etc), and the names of the contact person for each project

Anonymize all areas (e.g. Area #1, etc, for each project)

Replace all text in all case titles, bug events, wiki articles, and discussion pages with, say, X's (this seems preferable to just blanking them out in case some problems depend on the amount of text in a field)

It's also necessary to address tags, word lists, custom bug data, etc...

I'm having a difficult time figuring out everything that would need to be done to denature the database in this way, much less the best way to do it. I can't be the only one in the position of having a database full of proprietary data and FogBugz problems to sort out, so I think this might make a very useful addition to FogBugz.

I was excited to see the rich text editor bug fixes.

However, I had an issue in the Rich text editor that makes the cursor disappear and the text area has to be reselected to continue to edit.

As you know, Safari automatically resizes Text Areas to fit the text inside the area. At the point where Safari resizes the text area, the cursor is lost and i have to reselect the box to continue editing.

Mac OS X 10.6.7 with Safari 5.0.3.

Anyone else seeing this?

Thanks!

Caio

One of my teammates noticed this today. We have a custom workflow that defaults resolved cases in the development project to be assigned to a virtual user called "testers".

He had a parent case, and a child case. He resolved the parent to the default assignee, testers, with the "Also perform action on subcases" box checked. The child was resolved, but assigned to the Primary Contact for that project. This is a user called "triage".

I would expect that the child cases would be assigned to either the workflow's default assignee, or the user that was specifically chosen when closing the parent.

Is there a setting I'm missing where I can adjust the behavior of child cases that are resolved when the parent case is resolved? If not, I'd like to request the functionality.

I just noticed a problem in the page showing version control history of a file. If a checkin comment contains HTML-like tags, the table display is messed up.

For instance, we have a comment like this:

some text '
@ <column name>'
more text

This causes all following (earlier) checkins to be placed in the third (comment) column:

Apparently FogBugz doesn't properly escape angle brackets in the generated HTML.

When entering a link in a FogBugz case that contains a non-standard port, the resulting link is not usable.

Repro steps:

Create a case

Edit the case and enter a link using the HTML editor

Specify in the link a non-standard port (e.g.
Changeset 120
)

The resulting link in the case is both not usable and a partial rendering of the URL and ref nofollow portion of the anchor tag.

If you remove the nonstandard port, FogBugz behaves as expected.

I noticed in the User Options:

Tidy Case Events Plugin:
o On

o Off

Toggles the Tidy Case Events plugin
for this user. Tidy Case Events
automatically hides subtext-only
"Edited by..." events and adds a link
on the left panel to restore them.

This setting exists for Virtual and Community users as well. But Community users can't see (non-email) case events. And Virtual users can't log in at all. So I guess the option is useless there?

This drives me nuts: when you click Send Email, it defaults to the project that you used for the last new case. However, if you don't change it to Inbox, any replies to your e-mail will end up in some other random project, where they might be invisible for some time.

Please, please, let Send Email default to the Inbox project, or at least add an option to do this.

http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/7386/opening-cases-in-new-browser-tab-window-and-multi-select-in-list-viewOpening cases in new browser tab/window and multi-select in list viewKevin K2011-03-08T18:16:07Z2011-03-08T21:39:40Z

I use Firefox, and its shortcuts for opening links in new tabs/windows:

Ctrl-click to open in new tab

Shift-click to open in new window

I've noticed when I do this to open FB cases from a list view in a new tab/window, FB still selects/unselects the case row as though I had clicked on the case row outside the link.

For ctrl-clicks it isn't so bad, as it just selects the case I am going to be looking at. In fact, sometimes that actually saves me time, if I then need to do a bulk operation on all the cases I looked at.

But for shift-clicks, it will select the case I opened plus all cases between that case and the previous case I selected, which really isn't useful at all, since it selects a bunch of cases I had no interest in whatsoever.

Personally, I don't see much value at all in selecting cases when the case link is clicked to open the case. I think it would work better if it left the selection unmodified. That way I can be sure only the things I explicitly wanted to be selected are selected. At the very least, I think it shouldn't do multi-select for the shift-click case.

Is this a bug? Is there some plugin / script that could fix it?

http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/7189/trac-wiki-import-doesnt-correctly-link-quoted-wiki-names-using-fogbugz-trac-impoTrac Wiki import doesn't correctly link quoted wiki names using Fogbugz Trac ImporterMatthew Parslow2011-02-22T00:47:12Z2011-02-28T02:33:26Z

When you make a link in the trac wiki to a page with spaces in it, the required syntax is [wiki:"Wiki link with Spaces"]

I have successfully imported the wiki from trac to fogbugz, but all of the links that used the above syntax include the quotes.

I can manually edit each one to remove the quotes and it works correctly (the page is imported).

Can I run a regex against the wiki to fix this, or can the import tool be fixed.
