We are trying to extend the source control hook (Mercurial) so that we can subscribe certain people to a case based on the file type committed.
Eg if a developer commits a .SQL file we want to subscribe a DBA to review those changes

The XML API doesn't seem to support adding subscribers, what would be the best way to work around this?

We currently have FogBugz integrated with our source control, which is a great feature to have.

Unfortunately, the checkins that get sent to FogBugz don't appear in the normal flow/timeline of the case.

It would be ideal if each checkin created an event in the case (similar to posting new text to the case) with the relevant links to the checkin. That way, if you follow the thread of discussion, you can see which version of the files we affected along the way.

This is especially useful if files change multiple times as the feature goes back and forth from QA to coding.

http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/1600/we-need-your-help-the-kiln-licensed-beta-is-hereWe need your help! The Kiln licensed beta is here.Jason Rosoff2010-01-25T19:46:35Z2011-05-11T15:22:12Z

This is a call for beta testers interested in trying out our new version control product: Kiln (http://www.kilnhg.com/). Mercurial is the version control system under the hood, so if you've got FogBugz and wanted to try out a DVCS, this is a great opportunity. If you just want to experience the awesomeness of version control, code review, and bug tracking all working together seamlessly, then this is a great opportunity.

I have to mention that this is a beta. There will be some bugs during installation, and possibly after. The good news is that Kiln has been running for several months and hosting production code for a bunch of people in the On Demand environment. We think the risk is pretty low, but as software developers you know there is no way for us to guarantee that there won't be bugs.

We are specifically looking for licensed (install it on your server) testers, although you can use the same form if you're a FogBugz on Demand customer (the more the merrier!):

https://shop.fogcreek.com/beta-kiln/

Licensed Kiln will only run on Windows 2003/2008 Server with SQL Server 2005/2008/2008 Express. Folks running other operating systems or database servers are out of luck for the time being.

ONE MORE THING: This release also introduces a new version of FogBugz. There have been a few UI changes to support having FogBugz integrate with other applications. If you don't want to test Kiln, but would be willing to test the new version of FogBugz, send me an email to jason (at) fogcreek (dot) com.

http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/6855/feature-request-mercurial-integration-and-hgweb-cgiFeature request: Mercurial integration and hgweb.cgiDmitry Lobanov2011-02-02T11:55:55Z2011-02-08T21:54:19Z

This is a follow up to the question I asked about possibility to integrate FogBugz with mercurial repositories hosted via hgweb.cgi. First please read the question and the answer by the link. Looks like we ought to change fogbugz.py script ourselves, but we're not familiar with Python. We can sit and figure out how to make these changes, but it will take some time.

It would be great if the FogBugz team provide 2 scripts for integration with Mercurial, one for standalone repository, and one for multiple repositories hosted via hgweb.cgi. I think that having multiple repositories is quite natural and it's a good practice if working with Mercurial.

http://fogbugz.stackexchange.com/questions/6919/how-close-is-the-relationship-between-issue-and-changesetHow close is the relationship between issue and changeset?Roland P. Hofmann2011-02-07T08:21:15Z2011-02-07T14:44:54Z

Hi

I read your very interesting and informative description "FogBugz in Two Minutes" which makes me want to use FogBugz starting from yesterday.

One thing is not very clear to me, and I don't find much more in the feature list on your website: In your very last statement you mention the source code integration and the association between issue and changeset.

Does that mean I can easily do something like "merge fix for bug 1234 from repository A to repository B"?

Or is it possible to have implementation states depend on branches? In other words, can I have a report on repository A that says bug 1234 is fixed and at the same time a report on repository B that says bug 1234 is still open?

Thanks a lot for clarification!

Hello,

we have a standalone installation of FugBugz (Version 8.2.25), without Kiln. And we have several Mercurial repositories on our server. Here's described how to setup Mercurial integration in a case of a single repository or several different repositories. In our case we use hgweb.cgi to host several repositories (one for each project). All the configuration is done in a single hgweb.config file, here:

[web]
baseurl = /
[paths]
/Dev/Group1/Project1 = c:/Hg/Dev/Group1/Project1
/Dev/Group1/Project2 = c:/Hg/Dev/Group1/Project2
/Dev/Group1/Project3 = c:/Hg/Dev/Group1/Project3

If we follow your recomendations, we should also hardcode paths to each repository for each repository in every hgrc file. How this can be avoided? Can this all be done in a single hgweb.config file?
